Cast: Joshua Jackson, Liane Baliban, Campbell Scott
Joshua Jackson stars in this funny, captivating road movie about the quest for self
When confronted with his mortality, Ben Tyler impulsively buys a vintage motorcycle (a 1973 Norton 850 Commando to be precise) and sets off on a road trip, leaving behind not only his job but also his girlfriend, in the midst of wedding preparations. Starting out in Toronto and heading west, He crosses a continent on the search for a destination.
In the search for himself, Ben finds out what makes his country, and his life, so beautiful. Doing away with the heavy-handedness and sentimentality which this story might have inspired, One Week is a buoyant road trip infused with charm, wit and stunning scenery. Often funny, occasionally profound and eventually quite moving, this adventure unfolds against the great Canadian landscape. It’ll make you want to pack your bags and leave for a Canadian journey of your own!
